Applies to every page on DentistsRankedUpdated
DentistsRanked publishes rankings and facts about dental clinics. This page explains who decides what we publish, how the words are produced, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Independence
Rankings come from the published DR Score method and nothing else. No clinic, advertiser or partner can buy a rank, change a score, or approve what we write about them.
- Paid placements are called Featured. They appear in a block labelled “Featured” and “Paid placement”, above the ranked list and outside it, with at most 3 clinics per page.
- A Featured card shows the clinic’s real rank on that list. Paying never changes rank or DR Score.
- Revenue from listings, Featured slots and leads never feeds into the score.
- Book through DentistsRanked and get a $60 Amazon gift card. This doesn’t affect rankings, and we say so next to every booking prompt.
How our pages are written
List pages, clinic profiles and reports are built from data with fixed sentence patterns. A sentence like “12 of 76 clinics are open Saturdays” is filled in from that city’s own numbers, so each page says something specific and checkable.
Where we use a language model to help word a summary, it may only use the facts we pass to it. It can’t add claims, ratings, prices or opinions, and its output goes through the same checks as the templates.
- If a fact is missing, the sentence or table row that needs it is left out. We never write “N/A” or fill in a typical value.
- Every “best” names its condition, such as best for weekends or best by DR Score.
- Every number names its basis: “from 1,049 Google reviews”, “as of October 2026”.
- We don’t promise outcomes or make medical claims beyond reviewed explainer text.
- Spelling, currency and coverage names follow the country: CAD and CDCP in Canada, USD and Medicaid in the United States.
Medical review
Short explainers about treatments (what a root canal is, typical visits, when to see a specialist) are health content. They are shared across cities and reviewed before publication.
| Situation | What the page says |
|---|---|
| Reviewed by a named licensed dentist | “Medically reviewed by Dr. {Name}, {DDS/DMD}, {date}”, with matching schema |
| No named dentist reviewer yet (today) | “Reviewed by the DentistsRanked editorial team”, with no reviewer schema |
We will never name a reviewer who did not review the page, and never invent a credential. Our explainers are general information, not advice for your situation. For pain, swelling or trauma, contact a dentist or emergency service directly.
Corrections
Anyone can report an error: a patient, a clinic, or another publisher.
- Wrong facts (hours, address, services, dentists, coverage) are checked against the clinic’s website, Google listing or a phone call, then fixed.
- Closed or duplicate clinics are removed from rankings once confirmed.
- If a correction changes a rank, the city page’s update log records the change and its date.
- We don’t remove accurate facts, or change a rank, because a clinic asks.
Clinic-owned content
Some profiles include a clinic’s description of itself. That text is labelled as the clinic’s own words, and it is never mixed into ranking reasons or our summaries. We don’t check marketing claims in it, and they play no part in the score.
Google ratings are shown as visible text with their source, for example “4.8 from 1,049 Google reviews”. We don’t mark them up as our own ratings.
Reusing our data
Figures from our data reports and rankings may be quoted and reused, including by answer engines, with credit to DentistsRanked and a link to the page they came from. Each report offers its data as a CSV download and names the basis of every number.
