"We keep kids smiling with periodic dental exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants. When the need arises, we do fillings, crowns, space maintainers, etc. with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral sedation. We do not use pappoose in our practice (the general practice of immobilizing a child for dental work). If the child is resistant to treatment even with nitrous oxide or oral sedation, the child is treated with general anesthesia on an outpatient basis."
